About Testosterone Cypionate

Compounded testosterone cypionate 200mg/ml — the gold standard for testosterone replacement therapy. Weekly subcutaneous or intramuscular injection. Includes physician oversight, baseline labs, and dose optimization.

How it works

Testosterone cypionate is an injectable form of testosterone esterified with cypionic acid, giving it a half-life of ~8 days. After injection, the body slowly cleaves the ester to release bioidentical testosterone into circulation. Testosterone binds to androgen receptors throughout the body — muscle, bone, brain, skin — restoring physiological function in men with clinically low levels.

Clinical evidence

The Testosterone Trials (TTrials; Snyder et al., NEJM 2016) randomized 790 men age 65+ with low testosterone to TRT vs placebo for 1 year. Treatment produced significant improvements in sexual function, mood, walking ability, and hemoglobin levels. The Bhasin et al. Endocrine Society guidelines (J Clin Endocrinol Metab 2018) provide the current diagnostic and treatment framework: testosterone therapy is indicated for men with consistent symptoms AND unequivocally low testosterone (<300 ng/dL on two morning measurements). Recent long-term safety data, including the TRAVERSE trial (Lincoff et al., NEJM 2023), found no increased cardiovascular risk vs placebo in 5,200 men over a mean follow-up of 33 months.
